The Transregio 73 "Manufacturing of complex functional components with variants by using a new sheet metal forming process - Sheet-Bulk Metal Forming" examines the question of how the weight of an individual workpiece or an assembly can be reduced by using modern higher-strength materials. Based on modern sheet metal semi-finished products, process-optimised blanks with locally adapted properties are to be produced, which can then be used for the forming technology production of structural and functional components.
