The International Research Training Group 2657 “Methods of Numerical Mechanics in Higher Dimensions” is a joint initiative of Leibniz University Hannover and the École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay, in which researchers and doctoral candidates collaborate on innovative numerical methods in mechanics.
The programme focuses on model reduction techniques for nonlinear and high-dimensional problems, in particular high-dimensional parametrised or stochastic tasks, multiscale problems in space and time, as well as data-enriched simulations. It offers a structured doctorate in three phases, includes mandatory research stays abroad of at least six months at the partner university, supports double degrees, and involves postdoctoral researchers and Master’s students in the cooperative research projects.
