You have decided to study at our faculty, and we are very pleased about that. To help you get off to a good start, we have put together some information on the following page to help you find your way around quickly. We wish you a successful start to your studies.

When and how?

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering cordially invites all new students to its campus on 12 October 2020 at 14:00 hrs for a first semester welcome. Those who cannot or do not wish to attend in person will have the opportunity to be there virtually and gain important information and insights into the programme online.

What can you expect?

There will be various guided tours to different stations on the campus. One of them is the research building of the Institute of Turbomachinery and Fluid Dynamics, where you will have the opportunity to learn about current research projects. At the Institute of Product Development and Instrument Engineering you will gain first insights into design theory and the Institute of Materials Science will show you a small excerpt of your future teaching content. What is important for us?

It is important for us to give you a good overview of your studies. This includes getting to know the teaching staff and perhaps even some of your fellow students. Be there when the Dean of Studies, Prof. Dr. Matthias Becker, and the Programme Coordinator, Lisa Lotte Schneider, welcome you virtually or on site. We look forward to meeting you.
