Recognition Process

A carefully prepared recognition process is crucial to ensure that academic achievements completed abroad can be credited at LUH without any problems. Only if students complete the necessary steps early and in full can a smooth review and recognition process be guaranteed. The procedure ensures that the selected modules are academically appropriate and meet the requirements of the degree program. It is therefore essential to follow the procedure described above to ensure a successful stay abroad.

Hinweis zur Datenbank

A database of modules that have already been successfully recognized in the past is available to assist you with the recognition process. If the module you are planning to take abroad is included in this database, there is no need for a technical review by the module coordinatorsin this case, the examination board can proceed directly with the recognition. The link below will take you to the database, where you can filter by country and host university. This makes planning easier and significantly speeds up the recognition process.

  • 3. Formal review by the examination committee

Have the completed application reviewed by the examination board.

It will confirm whether formal recognition is possible in principle.

  • 4. Technical review by module coordinators

For compulsory and elective modules with a direct equivalent, please contact the module coordinator directly. For non-specific elective modules without a direct equivalent, the specialization coordinator will review the module:

    Prof. RichterEnergy and Process Engineering

    Prof. LachmayerDevelopment and Design

    Prof. MaierProduction Engineering

Prof. Schmidt – Master's program in Production and Logistics

Prof. Seel – Master's program in Mechatronics and Robotics

If the module is already entered in the database, no additional review by the module coordinator is required. In this case, the module can be recognized directly by the examination board. The same applies to modules that are to be recognized for the Studium Generale.

  • 5. Create a learning agreement

You will draw up your learning agreement based on the approved application. This must be signed by both the exchange coordinator at your faculty and the exchange coordinator at the host university.

  • 6. Keep documents and report changes

Any changes made during the stay abroad must be noted in the Learning Agreement and re-signed.

  • 7. After returning

You submit the application for recognition together with your transcript of records to the Examination Board for Recognition.
