Industrial Engineer, B. Sc.

As an industrial engineer you are the link between business and technology. You ensure that emerging communication problems between the fields of technology and economics are solved. You plan, decide and organise where technical and economic issues meet. During your studies you will gain insights into economics and engineering. The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration is responsible for coordinating the course of study.

What can you expect during your studies?

The technical part of your studies accounts for about 60 percent and is divided into the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering. The technical basics are part of your compulsory program, later you can deepen your knowledge in the elective modules automation technology, electrical power engineering, power and process engineering, information technology, mechatronics and production engineering according to your interests.

Economics takes up the remaining 40 percent of your studies and is divided into the subjects of business administration and economics, in which you will receive a comprehensive basic training.

Duration and conclusion

As a rule, the course of study takes 6 semesters. After passing the bachelor thesis you will receive the degree Bachelor of Science.

Areas of activity

As an industrial engineer, you are in demand at management levels in the areas of project planning and control, product development, procurement and logistics, sales and controlling in industrial companies. Further fields of activity are in the public sector and in service and trading companies. In addition, you can deepen your education with a subsequent master's degree.
