General information

Our faculty has many places available at various European universities. The following database lists all Erasmus co-operations of the faculty. If you are interested in a stay abroad via the Erasmus programme, you are also welcome to come to the consultation hours of the International Student Advisory Service.

Application procedure

Application deadline

Please note that the application deadline is always 31 January of each year for the following academic year (winter semester and the following summer semester)!

The first thing you need to do if you intend to take part in the Erasmus programme is to apply online using the link to the MoveOn portal provided by the International Office (HI).

This will create an applicant account, which will be converted into a participant account after nomination, in which the HI will later administer the entire ERASMUS procedure and provide, for example, confirmations of participation and Learning Agreements.

An application form is generated from the data entered in the online application, which you must submit together with the following application documents:

  • detailed curriculum vitae in tabular form
  • Letter of motivation and/or letter of recommendation (here the institutes have the opportunity to recommend particularly motivated students)
  • transcript of records
  • Language certificate (which must not be older than 2 years) - to verify the existing knowledge of the language of instruction used at the host university (In general, proof of English at B2 level is required. Knowledge of the national language is sometimes helpful, but not a prerequisite).
  • PDF document from the online application (MoveOn portal)

You can specify three universities of your choice when applying.

The documents must be submitted to the Internationalisation Officer Karen Suarez, M. A. by e-mail: suarez@maschinenbau.uni-hannover.de.

Selection procedure

The selection is made centrally by the Internationalisation Officer, if necessary after consultation with the institutes. If there are a large number of applicants, a (preliminary) selection can be made on the basis of the written application documents submitted and, if necessary, a final selection by means of a 10-minute selection interview in cooperation with the institutes.

The following criteria are taken into account in the transparent selection process:

  • Language skills
  • Grade point average
  • Equal opportunities
  • Letter of recommendation and/or motivation
