Prospective Students - Optical Technologies, M.Sc.

The aim of the Master's programme in Optical Technologies is to train specialists and executives for the entire optical industry. Favourable conditions are particularly given in Hannover, since a close co-operation of engineering and scientific research can be achieved by bundling together interdisciplinary institutes such as cluster of excellence PhoenixD, Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH) and Hannover centre for Optical Technologies (HOT).

Application deadlines

Germany and EU countries

Applications for the Master's programme for the winter semester must be submitted by 15 July and for the summer semester by 15 January. The application is made online.

Non-EU countries

An application for the Master's programme for the winter semester must be submitted via uni assist by 31 May and for the summer semester by 30 November.

The Optical Technologies degree programme can be studied either in a German track or in an English track. Admission requirements are a completed Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a comparable degree programme.

Applicants who have not completed their Bachelor's degree at a German university or college must provide proof of C1 level proficiency in German or English.
